WHEN: The current lineup has been playing together since early January
WHY: Promise is made up of 5 incredibly hardworking gentlemen. Playing songs that stray away from typical Baltimore pop-punk, these guys definitely have something a little different to offer.
The Bigger Lights EP, Third Act Stories, is now available on iTunes. Watch the band perform “Romance In A Slow Dance” live and unplugged right here. And, the band is also going on tour with My Favorite Highway. Geez, determined much?
So last night, Jacqueline and I were heading to The Sound Garden, the mecca of Baltimore record shops, to do some work for my Writing For New Media project, and who’s there but Senses Fail, shopping their little hearts out. Apparently, they’re recording with Brian McTernan for the next couple months. And they too love Sound Garden, once again proving that Baltimore is one of the best cities to record an album in.
We win. Or Sound Garden wins. Or Baltimore wins. Or whatever. The thing that matters is that this is a pretty cool city. Comment back if you agree.
The Graduate is heading out on tour with My American Heart and Mayday Parade on the Explosions In Your Pants Tour. Obviously, because it’s The Graduate, you should be going. Check out the e-card here.

A Love Like Pi is incredible, catchy electro pop-rock from Red Bank, NJ. We’re offering up a stream of their song, “Innocent Man” right here. This one’s a rarity, just for you, because we think you’re neato.
This is an awesome opportunity to familiarize yourself with To Write Love On Her Arms and to hear about what they stand for. Come out, meet Jamie, and listen to some great bands
I can name a billion new bands I think you should listen to, but my pinkies hurt, and that’s a lot of words. How’s three? Will that do?
Man Without Wax – Seattle indie/post-hardcore. They just signed to Eyeball Records, so I’M already sold, but for those of you who don’t stalk the Eyeball back catalog, they show a blazing and solid rock bit. Give it a whirl.
Wolftron – Side project from Kenny Choi from Daphne Loves Derby. Also just signed to Eyeball Records. These jams are more on the mind-easing acoustic (slightly electronic) indie-pop side , but they are charming like the swooners from DLD. I’m listening right now, and I feel like I am riding on a wave. Wooo.
Team Goldie – High-octane pop-punk MC with an Apple computer. He’ll make you dance. Like hard. And without reservation. Oh, and he’s from PA, which is close enough to Maryland that he’s like a half-local.
No matter how hard we try, we just can’t get that cat to put away his junk.
The Hint have spent time in their most recent myspace blog discussing the concept of a single. They’d also like you to help select your own favorite single, and whichever song wins, the band will offer it up as a free download. Win for us!
Disregarding the MAJOR task that is trying to convince The Second Sunrise to let us hear their new album, they’ve posted a new music video for the song “North by North Occupacia”. What do we have to say to this? THANK FUCKING GOD. I mean, it’s been what, a year? And in Jac and Julia world, that’s way too long. Luckily, they’re worth the time.
